Rihanna (pronounced /riːˈɑːnə/; born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988) is a Barbadian singer. She is the first female and the second known person from Barbados to have received a Grammy Award. (The first being Jimmy Senya Haynes.) Rihanna is signed to the Def Jam Recordings label. On February 21, 2008 Rihanna was honored with a national holiday – Rihanna day – in her home country of Barbados, to be celebrated each year on the same date.
